Happy Diwali!

The city of Mumbai is even busier than usual, and families are busy decorating and preparing for Diwali celebrations!  At ALF today we joined in by celebrating the end of exams, the approach of the restorative Diwali holiday, and the achievements of our wonderful young Leadership Fellows.  Girls organised food for a party, and came to ALF dressed to impress in traditional Indian outfits.  Before the party, we had three classes, and we teachers were highly amused by the feeling that we were addressing a wedding party, rather than a class of students.

Nonetheless, learning happened.  It just involved more sequins and diamante than we’re used to.

Later on, the party started by commending girls who had demonstrated exceptional commitment to ALF in various ways.  Then we all had some delicious food and enjoyed celebrating together.  Schools now have a break of two weeks for students to rest and prepare for the second stretch of the academic year.  Congratulations to our wonderful Leadership Fellows for all their hard work so far, and a very Happy Diwali to all!
